For Compost Lovers

Peter Macfadyen is about to start a new Frome Compost project and has sent in the following.

WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH, ECOLOGY GETS GOING.
Every week vital resources are leaving Frome. House after house, business after business is giving away the nutrients we could be using to build a massive source of vital ingredients with which to strengthen our community capacity to thrive in difficult times. While individuals have risen to the challenge, now is the moment to up the game. We’re talking compost. Frome Compost.
We’ve done the initial research and there is real potential to collect the materials that currently leave Frome from food related businesses and on which billions of bacteria, fungi and worms can be set to ‘work’, resulting in compost for Frome. We have some initial funding and a group of Edventure students ready to take the next design steps. What we need now are a few more people to join the initial management group. This will be a community project but with the expectation of future paid employment.
Interested? Please contact FromeCompost@gmail.com with a paragraph on what you could bring to the steaming piles (as soon as possible) and/or to discuss the ideas in more detail.
