Get Growing 2017
A free Growing club for parents and carers at Vallis First and
St Louis Primary Schools.
Who is it for? Beginners with little or no previous experience in growing.
Do you want to: Get more exercise? Eat more healthily? Improve your growing skills? Save money? Meet new people?
What do you learn? You will learn how to grow food, from soil preparation and planting out, to looking after your crops at home and harvesting. We will give you good ideas on how to grow crops with your children at home. We will share advice and share recipes on how to cook the food we’ve grown.
Where? On the community plot at Welshmill Allotments Frome.
When? The session is weekly on Thursdays 12.45 -2.45. The first session is Thursday 20th April. We will run sessions throughout the growing season.

Get Growing Course Keeps Going

Our Get Growing course which meets every Thursday at Welshmill Allotments goes from strength to strength. The course is for parents from Vallis and St Louis schools. We have covered a range of topics from growing in a small space to protecting your brassicas from birds and butterflies. The course has been supported by Aster Communities.

Our 2015 Get Growing course at Welshmill is now up and running. Nine parents from Vallis and St Louis schools have enrolled.
Time to plant some seeds
Some good weather and some dry ground has meant that we have made a good start.Those on the course learn how to grow at the allotments and then put it into practice at home, teaching their children.
