A wide-ranging team of nine took advantage of some excellent weather to complete the raised beds at Muriel Jones Fields. Staff from Mindset Training and Mack Civils & Construction worked alongside volunteers from Frome Allotment Association. An early start and some excellent rhubarb cake spurred the team on throughout the day.

In a good humoured atmosphere much was achieved in a short amount of time and the eight raised beds are now ready for use, along with the new viewing area.

“It was an extremely productive day,” said Neil Cameron of Frome Allotment Association. “It is a big project in terms of the landscaping and we couldn’t have completed it without the help of Mindset Training and Mack Civils & Construction. They really went the extra mile and added in some extra features to provide a quality finish. It was great to work alongside a local company who employ staff from Frome. The completed project provides an impressive introduction to our site.”

The new raised beds are designed for less mobile users and can be rented from Frome Allotment Association. “We only received the grant in March, so it’s brilliant to have the raised beds up and ready for the current growing season,” said Neil.
